2019 marque les 30 ans de la disparition de King Tubby, considéré comme le « Dub Inventor ». Cette conférence de Zonard d’Echotone est l’occasion de découvrir ou redécouvrir cette figure emblématique du mouvement dub !
Zonard, le selector aux commandes de Echotone est un passionné de longue date de toutes les musiques liées à la Jamaïque, qu’elles soient de 1950 comme de l’an 3000.
Basé à Lyon, il co-anime depuis 2014 avec Bassta la mythique émission « Dub Action », sur les ondes de Radio Canut depuis 28 ans. Touche à tout, il a inventé les centreurs « Tonelock » pour réparer les 45 tours décentrés, ce qui a permis de rendre justice à des morceaux dont les défauts de pressage n’avaient jamais pu être corrigés auparavant.
